How will the completion of FasTracks be funded?

Coloradoans have always had a pioneering spirit.  Some have moved here from other parts of the country or left and returned home because they understand that Colorado provides opportunities that afford a wonderful quality of life, unique to most other regions of the United States.  As a third generation Coloradoan I say, “Colorado is the best state without an ocean and we need to make sure we keep it that way.” Coloradoans have some very important decisions to make about the future of our state.  A key issue is how will the funding of the FasTracks completion happen?  Even though the economy is still flat and tough for many, we need to make sure that when a funding proposal for FasTracks is up for a vote, that Coloradoans are educated and understand how important it is for the measure to pass.  Right now, the Coloradoans who live at the south end of the metro area benefit by using light rail.  The people at the north end of town are stuck in the I-25 parking lot every morning commuting into downtown Denver.  Others wait for their spur to be funded and built. All of the people along the Front Range should reap the benefits of a mass transit system. Once the FasTracks system is complete then people can leave their cars at home thereby not adding to the brown cloud.  By funding and completing FasTracks the people of Colorado could set the standard for the rest of the country by lessening the dependence on the automobile and fossil fuels.  This could be the start of the clean/smart energy grid.  The only way we can create a good future for ourselves and our children is by remembering our pioneering spirit and doing what needs to be done to ensure success for all Coloradoans, today and tomorrow.
