Economic Benefits of Healthy Community Design

DRCOG and the Tri-County Health Department are teaming up to are teaming up to explore the nexus between healthy community design improvements and an economically healthy community by looking at projects from three different communities: Bennett, Golden and Littleton

The public works directors from the cities of Golden and Littleton will share their stories of revenue increases resulting from vision, pushing the envelope, and sticking with the program despite financial ups and downs, initial community complaints, and political challenges.

Sue Horn, Mayor of Bennett, will share how the town leveraged its Centers for Disease Control grant to obtain other foundation/grant dollars to make things happen in the community, and how it all fits into a bigger long-term vision.

DRCOG has applied for two AICP CM credits for this event.
